[Data]

  • Serial Number :#81445
  • Neck Date :6 MAY 62 A

This is a 6-string bass that was first produced in late 1961. It has a Jazzmaster-like body shape, a pickup switch, and the same vibrato unit as the Jazzmaster. It was the most advanced model at the time as a bass that could use an arm.

The early models with slab board fretboard had the same style pickups as the Stratocaster, screwed in at four points and mounted with a square chrome plate. In 1963, a minor change was made and the pickup shape was changed to that of the Jaguar. In addition, the original three pickup on/off switches were replaced with four, including an on/off switch for the low cut capacitor. In 1965-66, the specifications were changed to a binding neck and block position marks, just like the Jaguar and Jazzmaster.

The Beatles are known to have used one with block position marks and binding around 1967. The Beatles are known to have used one with block position marks and binding around 1967, and Jack Bruce used one in Cream. In the promotional video for "I Feel Free," you can see Jack playing, almost as if he were not playing at all. In Japan, psychedelic bands often used this instrument during the Group Sounds era in the 60s, and although the Japanese music scene at the time played something musically far removed from Cream, the influence of the artist himself must have come from this area. Nowadays, this bass is no longer in production, and only a small number of them are available in the used Fender Japan and vintage markets. Most of the vintage ones, especially the rare colors, are owned by collectors and are hard to find. What a legendary is!
